The individual, family and social costs of childhood sexual abuse and its effects are high. NHS Scotland and the government has identified the improvement of mental health and well-being of male survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) as a priority area. However, there are few research studies or evidence detailing the perspectives of male survivors of CSA which is essential to inform planners and help develop appropriate support and services.
