The grant will be used to explore the history and culture of bee keeping which dates back to Egyptian and Greek times. An arts project, in partnership with the Verbal Arts Centre, will explore the traditions and skills of bee keeping through poetry and literature. An event will showcase the arts project and the art, skill, craft and traditions of bee-keeping. To celebrate the bee-keepers' produce, the first 'Honey Show' will be organised. The group will also host a nationwide 'Bee Keepers Gathering'.
