It is expected that a quarter of the children taking part in the project will have special education needs (SEN). A range of activities will support young people from 5 to 16 develop essential sporting skills such as speed, agility and balance and thus encourage participation in mainstream activities. Pupils with behavioural problems, poor social skills and low self-esteem will be targeted as part of wider local authority crime and anti-social behaviour strategies.
