This funding will be used to support people with dementia and their carers building on previous work that involved using drumming by using principles from art and music therapy and applying them in a social context. It will separate the work around the Ilse of Wight and will be made up of 12 sessions that involve creating musical instruments and playing them i.e. junk drums or water xylophone as well as sessions such as drumming up a vision board or felting a drum beater. A 12 week course will also be run at the local NHS psychiatric facility.
