The funding will allow Uprising Youth and Community to scale their outreach support to support hard to reach young people in the places that they already gather. The Charity operates from The Hub located at the heart of the Stanhope estate a previously notorious estate which despite a significant regeneration scheme 10 years ago remains a deprived ward with many residents experiencing multiple and complex needs. The funding will create two new elements to 'Hang10 called 'Park It' and 'Walk It' to provide a further 4 x weekly 2 hour sessions of Park It' which will run structured activities and regular drop-ins at different parks across the Borough of Ashford where YPs gather. Sessions will include informal physical activity and additional support and signposting and pop ups form local partners will also be available. As part of the 'Walk It' project Funding will provide 3 x 2 hour sessions weekly of detached street work connecting with those young people that are not accessing more traditional youth setting or 'Park It' sessions ensuring the project is responsive to young peoples' needs and would be well placed to address any anti-social behaviour issues as they arise. re funding model and assess need.
