The project is using funding to facilitate capacity building for member organisations and a programme of work aimed at increasing community engagement with and involvement in local decision making. The group will target participants with lived experience of poverty discrimination or disadvantage for these roles as well as frontline workers working in health and social care. They will run training workshops covering topics such as understanding how local and national governments work campaign strategy equality & diversity and asset-based community development resilience & leadership. The project will increase engagement dialogue and understanding between the public sector and BAME communities increase knowledge & skills in advocacy and campaigning within a team and provide opportunities for local people to influence local policy and decision-making.
