This funding will help people aged 60 years and older to access community services and take part in social activities, encouraging new friendships and reducing loneliness and isolation. Local people will help shape the activities on offer, from restaurant trips, indoor bowls and concerts to tea dances, walking trips and cinema nights. The project will also offer a befriending service run by volunteers for people who are housebound, providing practical support and company.
