This is a continuation of a previously funded project, which offers a drop-in service five days per week for new arrivals who are dispersed by the Home Office. While their asylum claims are being processed, volunteers work with the individual/family to help them to become familiar with the local area. The project aims to directly help 500 refugees and asylum seekers in Swindon who are feeling isolated, have a lack of understanding of the asylum system and could be suffering from mental health issues.
