The group is using a £112,124 grant to support people who live or work with rare diseases to build relationships and work with each other and other agencies including government and the wider voluntary sector. The project, which will work in the Western, Northern, Belfast, Southern and South East Health and Social Care Trust areas, will provide peer support, training, volunteering opportunities, advocacy to influence decision makers, networking and advice. It will also improve awareness of rare diseases.
