The five-year Bright Stars project is offering emotional and practical support to the families of children under the age of 10 with spina bifida and hydrocephalus across Northern Ireland. When a family brings their baby home from hospital a support worker helps them develop a personalised plan for the child. There is a network of peer support groups for families and they support siblings to develop stronger relationships and better understand the difficulties faced by their disabled brother or sister.
