Around 300 disengaged and disadvantaged 16 to 19 year olds in Derby will be paired up with 180 mentors initially to help them develop friendships, build relationships and trust. Mentors will encourage individuals away from crime and anti-social behaviour by involving them in new social networks, experience new social settings and develop soft skills. The support will also include life organisation such as money and housing through to coaching and exploring education and employment pathways.
