This is a new project which makes use of an existing wooden canal boat that has undergone basic restoration as part of the work of the organisation, as a ‘wellbeing boat’. The project will improve the wellbeing of disadvantaged residents in Tameside, especially adults with physical and learning difficulties or poor mental health, through the provision of opportunities to increase social integration, become active and gain from the therapeutic and wellbeing benefits of canal boating.
