As part of the celebrations for the 450th anniversary of the granting of Abingdon's charter in 1556, this group will run two days of weekend workshops during which, with the help of local artists, children will work towards creating a collage depicting the old Abingdon custom of bun throwing. This dates back to the time of George III when, on special royal occasions, the town councillors dress in their robes and throw buns to the crowd from the roof of the County Hall.
