Dorking and District Radio Society will buy a range of new equipment to support three new projects. They will offer young people training to help them obtain a licence to transmit radio signals. Establish a loan scheme for older members, many of whom are housebound and amateur radio provides them not only with a hobby but a means to talk to friends at home and abroad. The new equipment will allow the group to offer assistance to the authorities in case of an emergency being declared.
