This new group in South Tyneside will engage vulnerable adults in the maintenance of a community garden, encouraging independence through the development of skills. They will use an award to establish the garden and training facility, including a sensory area, pathways, raised beds and a cabin. Beneficiaries will initially be people with learning disabilities. The group will deliver training courses and facilitate vocational learning to create work experience opportunities and pathways into employment.
