The funding will enable the development of local 'alternative peer support groups' in an environment where it's okay to talk and it's okay to be quiet too; reducing the pressure often felt by people experiencing social anxiety when joining a group. The groups will be structured to facilitate gently developing connections within the community with opportunities to make new, like-minded friends. The project aims to supplement wider mental health services by developing a community organisation uniquely focused on social anxiety.
