Fundraising advice

CreamTea, Gateshead

You can use your National Lottery Jubilee activity to raise money for a local good cause that needs support, a charity you care about or funds for vital equipment or resources for your project.

If you are holding an opening day or celebration of your project around the Central Platinum Jubilee weekend then it can be a great opportunity think about fund raising as well.

Here are some fundraising ideas to get you started:

  • Have some collection buckets at your event or activity
  • Connect with your local charity shop and offer to fundraise for them
  • Invite people to pay to guess how many sweets are in a jar, the name of a toy, or the weight of a prize vegetable
  • Talk to local businesses and ask for prizes so you can organise a raffle or for sponsorship
  • Host a bake sale or sell your homegrown produce
  • Set up an auction of promises where the donations are people’s skills won by the highest bidder.
