Project overview

The funding will allow Thames21 to establish a faster more widespread and sustainable reduction in plastic pollution in rivers by developing sustainable grassroots community action through national co-operation shared working and strategy development. Plastics Action will work in four trial locations across England to test evaluate and disseminate sustainable grassroots community action to reduce plastic pollution in rivers. Working with national and regional partners it will coordinate local community groups/volunteers involved in clean-ups and convene workshops consultations and plans development that analyses and builds on examples of sustainable success at local level and addresses barriers to increased long term public participation.
