Solent LEP comprises the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth Southampton, the M27 corridor and the Solent waterway. This area will receive £1,200,000 of Building Better Opportunities investment.
Bridge2Work
This project supports individuals back in to work by providing paid work placements of up to six months, giving experience of work and the recruitment process.
The process helps candidates assess their readiness for work and areas for development, while providing the positive emotional effects of having purpose. Participants will benefit from a reference, and some placements have the possibility to become permanent.
Holistic support is provided before, during and after the placement, and continue once participants have found employment. Employers offering placements also benefit from mental health awareness training to prepare for participants.
