Awards from the UK Portfolio

The UK Portfolio supports UK-wide ideas and projects. It tests and grows bold ideas that put people in the lead to address long-term social issues and to improve the quality of life across the UK and internationally.

COVID-19 response: The UK Portfolio is currently paused to new applications. Additionally, until October 2020, we will be prioritising working with our existing grant holders to support people and communities impacted by COVID-19.

The National Lottery Community Fund as a whole will be prioritising applications that are COVID-19 related. Please see our COVID-19 page for updates, and contact the relevant team in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland for further information and to apply for funding.

Climate Action Fund application phase

The Climate Action Fund will support communities across the UK to take action on climate change. These communities will demonstrate what is possible when people take the lead in tackling climate change. With National Lottery funding, they will work together, share their learning and be active participants in a broader movement of change.

Digital Fund

The first round of Digital Fund funding has now closed. Under Strands 1 and 2, we awarded £12.1m to 29 organisations and £500,000 for a support contract to work with them. There is £2.4m remaining of the £15m allocated to the Digital Fund, as announced in 2018. We are currently doing some discovery work to determine the needs of micro organisations across the UK, and whether these needs are primarily digital. We will use this work to inform how we support these groups in 2020. Alongside this, we are scoping how the remaining funds can have the most impact and we hope to launch a small number of small, strategic funds in 2020. For regular updates on the Digital Fund, please follow the team’s Medium blog.
