The organisation will use the funding to celebrate the past glories of the Freeman Street area by hosting the Freemo Carnival - an event that was held annually before the decline of the fishing industry. The event will bring all sections of the local community together for a parade, a marketplace celebrating the diverse cultures that live, trade and work in the area, and an evening where different communities will display their skills and artistic talents.
