Atrophy is an incurable condition that affects around 110 children born each year of which 50% will not reach their first birthday. This project seeks to employ two outreach workers whose primary role will be to provide advice and support to parents of children newly diagnosed with this condition. On average each newly diagnosed family will receive two visits from an outreach worker, together with access to local peer support groups.
