Access to Education for Deafblind Children in India
Access to Education for Deafblind Children in India - Project
Project overview
Because 95% of what we learn comes through sight and hearing, deaf blind children are amongst the most vulnerable in the world. In India, little has been done to improve their situation and the majority lack access to education and appropriate support within their communities. Due to parents' lack of coping mechanisms many children are confined to makeshift cages or tied to trees to ensure their security while parents are at work.
