The organisation, based in Maghery, will use the grant to encourage men to be involved in a traditional curragh boat making project. At weekly workshops they will learn traditional skills and have the opportunity to build two curraghs - a Foyle/Roe cot and a Colmcille cot - both of which were used for fishing in the 17th century. The boats will be shown as part of a UK City of Culture exhibition.
