Project overview
This project will develop, evaluate and publish a reading and language programme to enable teachers, teaching assistants and parents to help children with Down syndrome achieve their full potential. These children usually have significantly delayed spoken language and unclear speech. However, several research teams report that they often read better than expected for their cognitive and language levels if they receive good teaching adapted to their learning strengths and weaknesses.
