The Friends of Cumbernauld Park in North Lanarkshire was formally constituted at a public meeting on the 2nd of June 2005. Local councillors, local schools and the community at large supported the purpose and objectives of the group. Its aim is to advocate for better facilities, access and services for the local park. The project is to create a biodiversity zone between St Andrews and Cumbernauld Primary Schools, with a launch party to recruit volunteers.
