Ampleforth Abbey is a community of Benedictine monks located on the southern edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The project involves the creation of an orchard comprising of traditional northern varieties of apple. The planting of native shrubs and broadleaf plants will occur around the perimeter of the orchard. The local community and school children will be trained and encouraged to participate in the maintenance of the orchard, and interpretation boards will be displayed within the site.
