What we need if you choose to provide a video
If you choose to provide a video, we’ll ask for the website address (URL) of your video. You must put the video on a website that we can access – for example as an unlisted YouTube video.
Make sure the website address is correct so we can watch your video.
The full website address will include all the letters and symbols at the beginning of the URL. This includes the http:// or https:// at the beginning.
What young people could cover in the video
For the young people completing the video, we’d like to know
- how you have a say in what activities are provided, and how activities are run in the organisation
- about any examples of when you gave feedback to your organisation and it was acted on. How did you give the feedback? what happened with your feedback?
- if you can participate in the organisation at every level. For example can you get involved in the governance of the organisation or in designing programmes and how does this happen?
- how you think these additional activities will benefit young people in your local area.
If you're going to take videos of people taking part in your project, make sure you get their consent first. You'd normally do this with a consent form. Once you have the videos, make sure they're stored safely.
Your video should be no longer than 5 minutes.
How we'll use your video
We’ll only use your video to help us assess your application and your project idea. We will not share it publicly.
We’ll only access your video through the website that is hosting it, and our internal system will only have a copy of the link to the video, not the video itself. We’ll watch the video and write a summary of it for our system, and it’ll be viewed by staff looking at your application as well as those participating in our panel.
It’s your responsibility to remove the video from the host site after a final decision is made. Make sure to check the privacy notice of the provider you use.
If you have any questions about how to submit a video, email us at general.enquiries@tnlcommunityfund.org.uk
