Maximum grant amounts increased for the People and Places fund

We’re increasing the maximum grant amounts for People and Places. Find out more about the changes, including what your options are if you've already applied.
People and Places supports organisations to respond to the needs of their communities through medium and large grants.
The funding amounts for this programme have not changed since 2017. It’s important that they reflect current circumstances so they can meet the needs of communities across Wales.
Because of this, from Wednesday 9 September 2026, we’re increasing the maximum grant amounts for People and Places. Our maximum medium grant will increase from £100,000 to £150,000, and our maximum large grant will increase from £500,000 to £700,000.
If you’ve already submitted an application, we’ll assess it under the existing criteria. If you have an active application but want to apply for a bigger grant, you can withdraw your application and resubmit it from Wednesday 9 September 2026.
We want to make this as easy as possible. We encourage you to speak to your allocated funding officer who will support you through this process.
