How to apply

Start by getting in touch

Contact us to chat about your idea

You can:

We’ll put you in contact with a funding officer in your area within 5 days of contacting us.

Stage 1

There are 2 stages to our application process. If you’re suitable to apply, we’ll ask you to tell us about:

Your idea

Tell us:

  • your project name
  • the project location
  • how much funding you need
  • what you’ll use the funding for
  • who you’ll work with
  • what type of activities you might run to support partnerships funded by Meithrin Natur

Your experience

Tell us about your work with:

  • children under 5 years old
  • nature and the environment
  • health and wellbeing
  • safeguarding practices, particularly for children under 5 years old

We want to know about the work you’ve done in these areas across Wales.

Tell us about your experience of helping other organisations with:

  • capacity building. We’re particularly interested in examples of similar projects you’ve run with early years, environmental or health and wellbeing organisations
  • co-production with children under 5 years old and their caregivers
  • designing and caring for outdoor spaces that benefits people and nature
  • evaluation and sharing their learning
  • working in partnerships
  • working bilingually in Welsh and English
  • working across Wales

Your organisation

Tell us:

  • your organisation name
  • your organisation’s address
  • the type of organisation it is
  • what skills and experience your organisation has to deliver this work

We’ll let you know if we want to take your application to the next stage in 2 weeks of contacting us.

Stage 2

If you’re successful, we’ll ask you for documents about your project. For example, a project plan. You’ll need to submit your final application by 30 October 2025.

We’ll make our final decision by early 2026.

We’ll let you know if we’re going to fund your project or not. If you’re successful, we’ll tell you what you need to do next.
