This funding aims to improve children and their caregivers’ health and wellbeing in Wales. We're looking for projects that do this by helping them connect with the natural environment.
Who we mean by children and caregivers
Children and caregivers include:
- babies and children under 5 years old
- expecting parents
- family, foster carers, paid or unpaid carers
What we mean by the natural environment
We mean giving children and their caregivers positive and meaningful experiences with nature and outdoor spaces. Like parks, rivers or forests. It’s about helping them access, interact with and learn to care for nature and these spaces.
The type of projects we want to fund
You can apply for funding if your project is additional to your organisation’s existing work with young children and families. The aim is to help you build your capacity to use the natural environment to support positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
Who can apply
You must work in a partnership to apply for this funding. We want organisations to bring together their knowledge from across different sectors.

You must show us how your partnership will:
- run activities that help children and their caregivers connect with the natural environment. And improve their health and wellbeing.
- involve children and their caregivers in the project design and delivery
- improve or develop inclusive and accessible natural spaces
- support people that experience poverty, discrimination or disadvantage
- evaluate your project
