Who cannot apply
We cannot accept applications from:
schools
public bodies, such as councils, hospitals or government departments
individuals or sole traders
organisations based outside the UK
companies that can pay profits to directors, shareholders or members (including companies limited by shares)
organisations that have had funding for the same work, we will not fund the same work twice
organisations applying on behalf of someone else (unless you're applying together as a partnership)
new partnerships where the organisations have not worked together on this type of work before
What we cannot fund
We do not fund:
activities that make profit for private gain
religious activities – unless the work benefits the wider community and does not include religious content
activities that replace government funding
activities that benefit individuals unreasonably, rather than the wider community
retrospective costs – anything you’ve already spent money on
loan repayments
onward grant making – redistributing funding to other organisations
topping up reserves or contingency funds
large capital or building projects
organisations who submit proposals to more than one programme for the same work
