Who can apply

You can apply if your organisation is one of the following:

  • a voluntary or community organisation
  • a registered charity or charitable incorporated organisation (CIO)
  • a statutory body, such as a local authority, town, parish or community council
  • a not-for-profit company, including companies limited by guarantee and Community Interest Companies (CICs)
  • a group of organisations, as long as the lead applicant is a voluntary or community organisation, or a statutory body

We can consider funding unincorporated groups, but we’d usually expect you to use the funding to become incorporated and register as a charity if needed.

Requirements for board or committee members

You must have at least 2 directors who are not related.

We consider people related if they:

  • are married or in a civil partnership
  • are in a long-term relationship or living together
  • are part of the same family
