How to apply
Contact us for a conversation about your idea
- Email us at advicescotland@tnlcommunityfund.org.uk
- Phone 0300 123 7110 (open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday)
We’ll put you in contact with a funding officer in your area within 10 days.
You do not need to prepare anything before this conversation. We’ll ask you about your idea and discuss if this funding is right for you.
If you’re eligible to apply, we’ll send you an online application form.
If you cannot complete an online application form
If you have communication support needs, contact us to discuss other ways to tell us about your idea. This could include Easy Read or accessible forms that work offline.
What information you need to apply
You can see a full list of questions from the application form.
We’ll ask for the contact details, home addresses, and dates of birth of 2 different people from your organisation, each with a different email address:
- one should be someone we can talk to about your project
- the other should be a senior member who will be legally responsible for the funding
- both must live in the UK and cannot be related
We consider people to be related if they:
- are married or in a civil partnership
- are in a long-term relationship
- live together at the same address
- are related by blood
- are related through a long-term partner
Your organisation’s details
We’ll ask for your organisation’s legal name, address, type, and any registration numbers (for example, charity or company number). Check these before you apply, as incorrect details can slow down your application.
Your organisation’s accounts
Tell us the date your accounts wrap up each year and your income.
If your organisation is less than 15 months old and does not have yearly accounts, we can still consider your application.
Agree to our terms and conditions
You must read and agree to our terms and conditions.
Bank statements
We need a bank statement from the last 3 months to check the account where we’ll pay the grant. Your bank account and statement must meet our requirements.
We need:
- a bank account that meets the requirements in our financial controls and financial governance guidance
- a recent bank statement that contains the information as shown in this example bank statement (PDF, 325 KB)
Your bank statement must show:
- your organisation’s legal name
- the address the statements are sent to
- the bank’s name and logo
- address used by the bank
- account number and sort code
- date range the statement covers
If you’re unsure, contact us.
Other documents we accept
If your bank account was opened in the last 3 months, you can send a welcome letter instead of a statement. It must show the date the account was opened and all account details.
We can also accept a transaction listing dated within the last 3 months, as long as it includes all the details listed above.
