Awards to organisations working in Mid Ulster

Annaghmore LOL 2033

Annaghmore LOL 2033, based near Castledawson, is using a £16,700 grant over two years to make improvements to their hall and run events such as workshops and a community fun day. Work will include adding bee hives to their community garden and installing solar panels to improve energy efficiency and sustainability. 

Augher Stars FC

Augher Stars FC, is using a £4,840 grant to run a 12-week programme of structured play, movement activities and sensory games for children with learning disabilities, including autism. The project will bring children together to build confidence, develop relationships and improve wellbeing. 

Ballyneill LOL 495

Ballyneill LOL 495, based in Ballyronan, is using an £18,864 grant over one year to make improvements to their hall to make it more accessible and energy efficient. Work will include a new accessible disabled toilet, replacement of old lighting with energy efficient LED fittings, repairing guttering and installation of a new security door. 

Bann Valley Community Group

Bann Valley Community Group, based in Clady, is using a £2,550 grant over five months to buy equipment for and refurbish an unused space in their community hall to create a safe and welcoming environment for local young people. 

Blackwater Paddle Sports

Blackwater Paddle Sports, based in Mid Ulster, is using a £7,850 grant over one year to carry out volunteer training so they can organise litter picks on rivers across Mid Ulster. The project will teach people new skills and improve the local environment by removing rubbish from the water and riverbanks. 

Bovain Cultural Group

Bovain Cultural Group, based near Killyman, is using a £20,000 grant over eight months to make improvements to their hall, which will make it more comfortable for the local community to use. Work will include a new roof and ceiling, guttering and repairs to the chimney. 

The Cairde Dhroim nDamh

The Cairde Dhroim nDamh, based in Maghera, is using a £20,000 grant over two years to maintain and upgrade the Drummnaph Nature Reserve and hold workshops and celebration events. The project will make the reserve more user-friendly and appealing for volunteers, visitors and the local community. 

Cookstown and District Angling Club

Cookstown and District Angling Club is using a £19,500 grant over two years to buy angling and maintenance equipment and install new stiles and an accessible platform along the Ballinderry River. The project will teach people new skills and make the riverbank and angling more accessible. 

Cookstown Sons of William Flute Band

Cookstown Sons of William Flute Band is using a £20,000 grant to make improvements to their hall, so it is a more accessible, energy efficient and welcoming space for the local community. Work will include refurbishing toilet and kitchen facilities, a heating system, flooring and new furniture. 

Derryraghan LOL 131

Derryraghan LOL 131, based near Cookstown, is using a £19,956 grant to make improvements to Cady Orange Hall so it is more accessible and safer for the local community. Work will include new windows and doors, guttering, electrical works, work to external cladding and improved parking facilities. 

Donaghmore Womens Institute

Donaghmore Womens Institute is using a £6,000 grant over two years to run a programme of activities including day trips and a Christmas event. The project will bring women together to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing. 

Kildress Wolfe Tones GAA

Kildress Wolfe Tones GAA is using a £13,000 grant over two months to buy a shed to use as an accessible space for activities such as machinery restoration, woodworking, gardening, and arts and crafts. The project will bring local people together to learn new skills and build relationships. 

TABBDA Company Limited

TABBDA Company Limited, based in Ballyronan, is using a £19,984 grant over one year to run a programme of activities including craft and music workshops and fitness sessions for the local community. The project will bring people together to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing. 

The Zacchaeus Outreach Project

The Zacchaeus Outreach Project, based in Kilyman, is using a £5,918 grant over six months to organise a community event focusing on the experiences of the local community during the First and Second World Wars. The project will bring people together to reduce isolation and learn about the past. 

Tirgan Community Association

Tirgan Community Association, based in Moneymore, is using a £16,189 grant over two years to make improvements to their hall and run a programme of wellness activities for the local community. Work will include buying new kitchen appliances and redecorating the interior and exterior of the hall. 

Tullysaran Community Association

Tullysaran Community Association, based near Benburb, County Tyrone, is using a £20,000 grant over two years to run a programme of activities for older people, young people and families with a child with a disability. Activities will include workshops, fitness, gardening, a summer camp and day trips. The project will bring people together to reduce isolation and build relationships within the community. 

Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery

Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery, based in Dungannon, is using a £20,000 grant over one year to buy a pick up truck to help the group deliver their search and recovery services. 

Upperlands Community Development Ltd

Upperlands Community Development Ltd, based near Maghera, is using a £20,000 grant over one year to transform a neglected local space into a vibrant, inclusive park including a mini adventure playground, pond dipping area, orienteering trail, eco-toilet, and two containers for storage and community activities. The project will provide a space for the local community to come together reduce isolation and enjoy the outdoors. 

Willowbank Limited

Willowbank Limited, based in Dungannon, is using a £19,376 grant over two years to develop and maintain an accessible allotment and run cooking sessions and independent shopping trips for adults with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, mental health challenges, and young people with learning difficulties and neurodiverse conditions. The project will help participants to build friendships, develop independence and increase their confidence.
