Introduction
This evaluation looks at the #iwill Youth Social Action Fund. It explores how the fund supported young people from under-represented groups to take part in social action. It also looks at the effects on young people and partner organisations. It’s intended for funders, youth organisations and policy makers.
Findings
The evaluation found that the fund created more than 5,800 opportunities for young people to join social action projects.
The research found that:
projects reached groups that are often under-represented, including disabled young people and those facing socio-economic barriers
strong engagement came from youth-led shared spaces, youth involvement in recruitment, and diverse staff teams
young people developed confidence, a sense of belonging, and practical and social action skills
many reported higher aspirations and positive next steps into work, education or training
most organisations said the fund improved how they support and involve young people
