This formally constituted group would use an award to celebrate 60 years of the end of WW2 by organising a series of events named "Dig for Victory", which would consist of: an open day on 2nd May 2005, with stalls and children's activities of the era; a dinner dance with music of the time on 7th May 2005, and an event for all the family to recreate a street party on 29th July 2005, where grandparents would reminisce on their war years as children (or even in the services) and play wartime games.
