The funding will be used by the project to raise awareness of the risk factors and symptoms associated with prostate cancer targeting hard to reach and high-risk groups of men that may not otherwise seek professional help at an early stage. The funding will support the group in reaching out and working with other charities and through local community groups as well as recruiting and training Volunteer Community Champions to deliver health messages particularly to African and Caribbean communities homeless men older men and those living in sheltered accommodation and men in the prison system/ex-offenders. The project will also target the health professionals working with these communities to understand the specific risks and barriers and how to engage with them. The project will operate in Manchester and Liverpool (North West) Newcastle (North East) Bradford and Leeds (Yorkshire & Humber) Birmingham Nottingham Wolverhampton Dudley (Midlands) and Bristol (South West).
