The project arises from a consultation with local MPs, councillors, citizen advice bureau's and advice providers which highlighted the need for a specialised immigration advice service in Croydon, Sutton, Kingston and Richmond. At the moment, local citizens advice bureaus are unable to signpost clients as there is insufficient provision of free advice. The project match-funds a grant from the Legal Services Commission which will provide free legal advice to highly disadvantaged people in the four boroughs.
