NI Cancer Fund for Children has been awarded £150,000 for the purchase of a log cabin to be constructed within the grounds of Shimna House, Newcastle. The project will offer a place for young people with cancer to integrate with each other and their families. The project will provide recreational activities, life skills training, build relationships, esteem and understanding of their condition and help them integrate back into society. The grant, over one year is for construction costs.
