This is a re-instatement of a previous project, based in North Tyneside, which aims to improve the quality and range of life chances for local disabled people, their carers and families. Users with a particular medical condition can socialise whilst sharing experiences and coping mechanisms, as well as gaining mutual support from self-help groups. The groups currently support people with tinnitus, deafness, aphasia, migraine or who are bipolar. Additional groups would be established as required.
