The project, in the town of Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria, aims to improve the sexual health of disadvantaged young people by recruiting and training 500 young people to become Peer Educators (PE). PEs will provide information on HIV/AIDs, sexual health and other STDs through one-to-one advice, counselling and access to free HIV/STD testing kits. They will also encourage young people to attend educational workshops on sexual health and distribute free condoms.
