This new project will provide bereavement support services to people with learning disabilities in Stoke on Trent. It will provide informal group workshops, peer mentor training, and training in how to deal with bereavement. People with learning disabilities are often protected from death and funerals, which can lead to a lack of understanding. The project will give them an opportunity to talk and ask questions, and the chance to become mentors with training in areas such as listening and comforting.
