The funding will be used towards the running cost of the Hearing Support Service. It will allow them to continue running community-based clinics, enabling them to work with more service users closer to their own homes, which is essential for those who are rurally isolated and unable to access transport. They will also carry on with the home visits, set up more 'closed' clinics from nursing/care homes, and use their volunteers to train staff within homes with basic knowledge of hearing aid maintenance and usage.
