The funding will be used to provide an advice service for people who are unable to open a bank account for their universal credit due to lack of ID, poor credit history or no fixed abode. The project will build on a successful pilot which includes a provision of basic banking systems, and awareness raising of the issues associated with borrowing money from loan sharks and pay-day loan companies. It will also offer support to people unable to use online banking facilities.
