The funding will be used to run Woodland Wellbeing sessions for women living in Chopwell Gateshead one of the most deprived areas of the North East.The project is aiming to deliver 18 fortnightly sessions each 3 hours long offering arts and crafts activities and healthy food cooked on an open fire. These participant-led sessions emphasise the importance of neighbourhoods coming together to lift each other up accessing the outdoors for its proven mental and physical health benefits and skills sharing to grow self esteem and encourage reciprocal support. The activities will include pottery weaving foraging whittling and growing plants.
