This 18-month development project will allow Todmorden Learning Centre and Community Hub (TLCCH) to test and refine ideas for training courses to kick-start a local green economy made up of businesses involved in activities which help to reduce carbon emissions and the impacts of climate change. This project will see an introductory training course developed alongside exploring how natural building sustainable farming renewable energy and enterprises focusing on repair and reuse can be scaled up and mainstreamed. The long-term goal will be the delivery of a range of specialist modules covering these areas as the expansion of these industries will require a labour pool with the appropriate skills and knowledge.
