A New Marie Curie Helper Service in Glasgow - Project
Project overview
This organisation will use the grant to develop a new 'Marie Curie Helper Service'. Volunteers referred to as Helpers will provide support on two levels involving both for the individual who is terminally ill, and for their family and carers enabling them to cope with the daily challenges of living with a terminal illness. Patients are carefully matched with someone who shares their interests, once matched the Helper will visit the patient and family/carer on a weekly basis providing continuity of support.
