Bringing Brochs Alive - Project

Project overview

This group aims to advance education, citizenship, community development, the arts, heritage, culture and science. They will use the funding to engage a consultant to carry out options appraisal of three sites which they have been offered on which to build a replica broch, a dry-stone, tower-like structure originally built during the iron-age. The project will provide training opportunities in stone masonry and dry stone walling, employment during construction and a major visitor attraction for the area.
