Integrated Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project
Integrated Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project - Project
Project overview
Only 16% of rural communities in Cross River State - southeastern Nigeria - have access to a safe water source. Further, only 10% of the population uses adequate sanitation facilities. As a result water related disease is rife, in particular typhoid and cholera leading to many child deaths. Most people in these communities don't realise that there is a link between their hygiene and the outbreak of these diseases.
